The Tandym Group is Hiring a Director of Employee Relations Near Inwood, NY

A New York City healthcare network is currently seeking an experienced professional to join their staff as their new Director of Employee Relations. In this role, the Director of Employee Relations will be responsible for counseling management on disciplinary issues and contract & policy interpretation and investigating and handling employee complaints and union grievances.
Responsibilities:
The Director of Employee Relations will:

  • Manage employee relations process, conducting thorough investigations to address/remedy employee issues and complaints
  • Provide counsel to all levels of management on contract interpretation, implementation of policy, and guidance on issue
  • Collect, analyze and interpret data that supports projects and strategic goals
  • Conduct grievances and provide final rulings in a timely and unbiased manner knowledge of Labor laws, union contracts, federal, state and local laws in the resolution of complaints
  • Track and triage all issues that come through the Human Resources Department, providing updates to the SVP of People Operations and identifying areas of high risk
  • Review employment related legal matters, including background check review, immigration process, and NYS commissioned guidelines
  • Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, and infection control standards
  • Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

  • 5 years of Labor-related experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge of Legal and Contractual language
  • Working knowledge in Joint Labor Management settings
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly organized

Desired Skills

  • Master's Degree
  • Human Resources certification
  • Experience in a Healthcare setting
